Review – Alien: Isolation

A PS4 copy of the game was used to review.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Alien movie series, I’ve seen all of them and the only films I really enjoy out of them are Alien and Aliens. Last year Gearbox attempted to make a game based off of Aliens, with us getting Aliens: Colonial Marines, one of the worst FPS games I have ever played. This year, Creative Assembly is giving it a go and making Alien: Isolation, a game based closer to the first movie rather than the second. After the huge disappointment that was Colonial Marines, how much justice does Isolation give the Alien series?

DICE Producer Says Battlefield 4’s Launch Damaged Consumer Trust

Battlefield 4’s launch was not the best launch in DICE’s history, and DICE LA producer David Sirland has admitted this, saying that the launch of Battlefield 4 has damaged player trust.

“We still probably have a lot of players who won’t trust us to deliver a stable launch or a stable game. I don’t want to say anything because I want to do. I want them to look at what we’re doing and what we are going to do and that would be my answer. I think we have to do things to get them to trust us, not say things to get them to trust us. Show by doing.”

Sirland goes onto say that he is confident saying that the troubled launch won’t happen again with their next installment, Battlefield: Hardline.

“Sure, there would be issues; there’s always issues. But we didn’t think there would be issues to this degree.”

Sirland goes on to talk about that they need to earn back the consumer’s trust, and that that is Sirland’s end goal for their next project.

Battlefield 4 was one of the games I picked up with my PS4 on launch day last year, and the amount of problems I face playing both multiplayer and singleplayer was amazing with constant game drops, constant lag, and multiple wipes of singleplayer data. Sriland is completely right with losing trust of consumers, and I have now be incredibly hesitant to not just buying DICE games, but to buying EA games in general.
